In the heart of the Eternal City, ancient secrets aren’t the only things getting uncovered.

Blindsided by a broken engagement, Remy Campbell flies to Rome—the site of her first kiss—to rediscover herself and get over her ex. She jumps into her new life by agreeing to a romantic meet-up with a smooth-talking Italian stranger who, as luck (or fate) would have it, turns out to be not only a jerk but a wanted international criminal to boot.

Thanks to her not-so-hot date, Remy is a key witness, and possible suspect, in the theft of an ancient amulet. In police custody, she finds herself under the protection of handsome Sicilian detective Lorenzo Rossi. The case is a make-or-break situation for both of them, and together they must decipher a series of clues to track down the missing amulet and bring down the elusive European crime syndicate that stole it—all while struggling to keep their finger grazes to a minimum and their partnership professional.

Their investigation takes them on an intimate, two millennia treasure hunt through Rome. But has Remy dug up more than she bargained for?
